UniFi is set to tag the VLAN for a separate SSID and as far as I can tell it is working as the IP is assigned to the new subnet. I worked with Untangle support to ensure that the IP for the Chromecast is allowed through to the standard network, however I am unable to see the Chromecast in the list of options when trying to cast.

- Jan 07, 2020 · I’ve had similar problems with UniFi, google home devices, and separate subnets. I ended up adding parameters to my config.gateway.json file to enable mDNS repeating (this is in addition to turning on the mDNS services in the controller UI).

Apr 09, 2018 · There is a feature request going to get the Unifi Security Gateway to communicate with DNS servers over DoH if it’s supported by the DNS Resolver. 1.1.1.1 does support DoH, but Unifi lacks support at this moment. If you want to use DoH, the “easiest” way is to host your own DNS Server and configure that to talk to 1.1.1.1 over DoH.
